Achieving the Dream (ATD) is requesting session proposals for the 2025 K–College Instituteto be held July 23–25, 2025 in Denver, Colorado.

Reimagining the pathway from high school to college is a crucial component of connecting students with postsecondary opportunities that align with their interests, goals, and the demands of the workforce. The K–College Institute brings together colleges and communities that are driving student engagement through equitable access and holistic student supports. Learn about high-impact innovations in dual enrollment and early college programs, college bridge initiatives, and workforce partnerships that equip all students with the skills, knowledge, and experiences they need to thrive in the workforce and contribute to a vibrant and competitive economy.

We are seeking your proposals for sessions featuring programs, innovations, and research that will accelerate the work of your peers in advancing postsecondary readiness, access, and attainment. 

College and K–12 leaders, educators, student services professionals, and researchers are encouraged to submit proposals connected to the following themes:

  • Aligning Dual Enrollment with Career Pathways
  • Intentionally Expanding Postsecondary Access
  • Centering Holistic Student Supports in Dual Enrollment

Proposals are due April 11, 2025. Priority consideration will be given to proposals submitted by March 21, 2025.


Steps to Submission

Please review the proposal requirements carefully. Complete all sections of the online proposal form. Drafts can be saved and edited and will not be submitted until you hit the “Submit” button. You must hit the “Submit” button on or before 11:59 p.m. ET on April 11, 2025, for your proposal to be considered.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking to highlight the progress made by a diverse set of colleges, K–12 districts, research organizations, and community-based organizations. All session proposals must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. ET on April 11, 2025. Priority consideration will be given to proposals submitted by March 21, 2025. Multiple proposals may be submitted. Applicants will be notified via email of the status of their proposals no later than April 27, 2025. 

Sessions are 60 minutes long. Each session room will have an LCD projector, screen, laptop, one table microphone, and a podium.

SUBMISSION DETAILS

Session Proposal Leader Information 

Sessions may have a maximum of four session leaders. Insert the first name, last name, and email address of each leader, and indicate if they are a leading or supporting presenter. Complete contact information is required for all session leaders, including job title and name of organization. 

Session Title 

The presentation title should include an overview of the presentation in 100 characters or fewer. Engaging titles to attract attendees are encouraged as long as they clearly define the content of the session. Consider the session learning objectives as you create the title, i.e., what is the main takeaway?

Session titles may be edited prior to final publication in the program to meet length and space requirements. 

Session Description

Descriptions should clearly explain the content of the session. The narrative description should provide ATD proposal reviewers with a complete picture of the session. The description will be included in the 2025 K–College Institute program. Please limit the description to 1,500 characters, including spaces.

Please identify which theme best categorizes your session:

Aligning Dual Enrollment with Career Pathways

  • Guiding students with intention toward dual enrollment courses that matriculate to relevant postsecondary pathways
  • Connecting coursework with workforce needs, preparing students for both college and careers through robust pathways 
  • Blending dual enrollment with employer partnerships or other work-based learning experiences

Intentionally Expanding Postsecondary Access

  • Creating inclusive programs to address barriers to enrollment, encourage matriculation to other college programs, and boost college completion rates
  • Designing initiatives for special populations, like opportunity youth or foster youth

Centering Holistic Student Supports in Dual Enrollment

  • Developing strategies to encourage belonging, strengthen collaboration, and implement holistic advising models 
  • Transfer and matriculation agreements that ensure credit acceptance and accelerated postsecondary completion

Tips and Lessons Learned 

Describe any helpful tips and/or lessons learned that will be shared during your session. 

Participant Engagement 

Explain how participants will be engaged in active learning in the session. Describe any strategies that will be used. This is a critical requirement for selection.

Proposal Edits

You will receive a confirmation email after officially submitting your proposal. You will be able to preview and edit your proposal until 11:59 p.m. ET on April 11, 2025. If for any reason you want to withdraw your proposal, please return to your proposal, and update the status to “Withdrawn.”
